PROGRAMS FOR NEW MAJORS
Welcome to the MAC Family!
We hope that you find success both in and out of your creative and academic experiences during your years here. To get you started, we have provided a few events that you may find useful.
General MAC Course/Club Information
Held every year at the end of February for all current MAC students, you will learn more about becoming part of the MAC family, about the various academic disciplines and clubs, and have an opportunity to speak to teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators about your course choices. Prospective students are welcome to attend.
General MAC Student-Specific Info
Any student who will be starting at McCallum for the first time in the Fall is invited to this event. It is a general orientation/open house style event designed to prepare students for life in high school. You will learn a bit about being a MAC student and take a tour of the school. This event occurs a few days after the end of the school year (usually early June).
ACADEMY CHOICE KNIGHTS
New Major & Parent(s) Course Info
Shortly after spring break, new majors are invited to come to sessions to learn about and choose their first year Academy classes. This event is a great opportunity to get your specific questions answered about scheduling. Counselors, Fine Arts faculty, and Academy Ambassadors usually attend this event to collectively support each new major. Go to the Prospective Student Events page for dates and details.
ACADEMY NEW STUDENT AND PARENT ORIENTATION
New Major & Parent(s) Info & Support
Prior to the start of school in August, all new Majors and Parents are expected to attend this fun and informative community building event. Students learn about important policies and receive useful high school organizational and time management strategies to stay successful as well as engage with their peers. Parents even have their own session to obtain parent-specific support and answers.
