• Date:

  • Time: Register for your preferred time; available first come first serve

  • Day of Audition:

    • Secure a quiet and uninterrupted space for your Zoom audition.

    • Set up your environment and technology in advance.

    • Sign into your Zoom a few minutes before your assigned time.

  • Your audition will be in three parts all via a live zoom:

  • You will prepare and perform a memorized live zoom solo with a pre-recorded accompaniment track.

  • You will sight-read and vocalize during the live zoom.  The pre-recorded track for this portion of the audition will be found at this link.  A sample track is currently uploaded.

  • You will interview.  Be prepared to answer questions on experience or interest in choral/vocal music.

Important considerations:

  • Music must be published and available for purchase (either online or from a music store). Music from the UIL Prescribed Music List (Class I, II or III) or similar literature is preferred. Popular music/solos and musical theater songs are not recommended. Recommended books from which to choose audition music are any of the Alfred Publishing “Folk Songs for Solo Singers” books.  If you do not have access to select your own solo from these resources, you may perform one of the songs found at this link. Students must send sheet music as an email attachment to Mrs. Kashdan ( by February 8th unless they are using one of the provided songs in the Google folder.

  • If the student is unable to obtain a piano accompaniment track for their chosen solo, a track can be provided by the choral faculty upon request. If you wish to request an accompaniment track, please supply a digital copy of your sheet music no later than Wednesday, February 3rd.  Send sheet music as an email attachment to Mr. Mabry (contact info below)
